Golden Eighties

do you remember those tacky ladies with gold lipstick, shoulder pads, lots of jewelry and pearly nails? well, that's the stigma [along with neons] the 80's left on the following generations…
i have learnt that if you 'love' fashion but you don't know who Claude Montana is, you don't know a thing about it… i have had the pleasure to met the man in flesh, it would be a lie if i said that i knew who he was when i first saw him; of course i had read some things about him and his butchered career, but i never went in depth to learn who he was and what he had done.
after coinciding on several occasions with him, i became curious… found an amazing book about his work and philosophy, i realized i was a witness of a true genius; the kind of man who get's no recognition about the legacy he donated to the history of fashion.

recuerdan a esas señoras con labial dorado, hombreras, muchas joyas y uñas perladas? bueno, ese es el estigma [junto a los neones] que dejaron los 80's a las generaciones posteriores…
he aprendido que si 'amas' la moda pero no sabes quien Claude Montana es, no sabes nada de esta… tuve el placer de conocer al hombre en persona, seria una mentira si dijera que lo reconocí desde la primera vez que lo vi; claro que había leido algo de el y su destruida carrera, pero nunca me adentré en su trabajo.
después de coincidir en varias ocasiones con el, me entro la curiosidad… encontré un libro increíble de su trabajo y filosofia, me di cuenta que era testigo de un verdadero genio; el tipo de hombre que no obtiene reconocimiento del legado que le ha donado a la historia de la moda.

the intricate details and pattern skills blew me off,

there's no doubt we are now in a mediocre state of creation.

fui tan feliz al poder meter mis narices a los archivos…

los detalles tan cuidados y las habilidades de patronage me impresionaron,

no cabe duda de que estamos en una etapa mediocre de creación.
